Therapist Supporting Young Adults Through Anxiety and Life Transitions
Hi, I’m Meghan. If you’re here, you might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what comes next. Finding a therapist can feel like a big step, and you don’t need to have it all figured out to begin.
I work with college students and young adults who are navigating anxiety, relationship or family stress, and challenging life transitions. You might feel like you’re holding it together on the outside, but inside things feel heavy, confusing, or hard to manage. Therapy can be a space where things start to feel more manageable and make more sense.
My path to becoming a counselor began in my early 20s when I experienced therapy myself. My counselor helped me better understand my experiences, respected my beliefs, and supported me through meaningful change. While it was hard work, I came away with a grounded sense of peace and clarity that stayed with me. That experience led me to pursue a career as a therapist. Today, I feel grateful to sit alongside my clients as they navigate their own challenges and move toward growth in a way that feels authentic to them.
In sessions, I aim to create a space that feels warm, relaxed, and real. I bring curiosity, humor, and genuine interest in who you are—not just what you’re going through. Together, we’ll make sense of patterns, process your experiences, and find ways forward that truly fit you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I care about helping you create meaningful, lasting change.
I offer a free 15-minute call so you can ask questions and see if working together feels like a good fit. You’re welcome to reach out anytime—I look forward to connecting with you.
My background and Experience
I am an Austin native and attended The University of Texas (hook em!) before completing my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sam Houston State University. I am an LPC Associate, meaning I have graduated with my masters and am licensed by the state of Texas while still completing requirements to be independently licensed under the supervision of Dr. Evelyne Fitzgerald, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S.
Prior to Eventide Therapy, I have worked in various other treatment settings listed below.
Private practice individual therapist, focusing on children, teens, and young adults.
Sam Houston State University counseling center, focusing on college students and teens from the Huntsville community.
Addiction group therapist at a residential treatment center for women.
Play therapist for children, focusing on trauma, anxiety, and family of origin struggles.
Group therapist for women involved in the justice system.
My Approach
I approach therapy from a person-centered and cognitive behavioral (CBT) perspective, meaning I will first seek to understand who you are and what matters to you as we get to know one another. From there, I will offer education surrounding the symptoms you’re experiencing, give you new ways to approach your difficulties, and work with you to create the changes you desire. Sometimes we’ll process past experiences, other times we’ll focus on the present moment or future possibilities. Therapy is a joint effort between the two of us, and I hope to facilitate a space where we can connect, collaborate, and celebrate your growth together.
Life Outside the Office
When I’m not working, you can usually find me catching up with family and friends, taking a walk by the river, or relaxing at home with a book or a movie. I also love traveling and am always planning my next trip—my most recent one was to the Oregon Coast, where my friends and I hiked, found waterfalls, and enjoyed some surprisingly sunny days on the beach. Maintaining work-life balance is extremely important to me, and I bring this value into the therapy space, often helping clients explore their own ways to find balance.
